dad - possible adrenal cancer

Post a new topicby susiemac5 on Tue Apr 21, 2009 7:11 am

Hi

Wonder if anyone can give me some advice please. My dad (65) has recently been diagnosed with a mass/tumour on his adrenal gland. Medical history - undiagnosed pain for approx 20 years. In the last year he has palor changes lasting about 30 mins - ie he goes white/grey. He sweats on occassion more than you would expect. He is generally other than that fit and healthy. No weight loss etc. He suffers from mood swings and depression and has done so for most of his adult life. He had a routine MRI and that was how the mass was diagnosed. The intial doctor was not an endocrinologist but he did say that the mass did not appear to be fatty which was a general indicator that it may be malignant.

He is waiting for an appointment to see the endocrinologist and then the surgeon It has been 2 weeks already since the intial finding

Does anyone have any advice/comments for me?
Thanks

Susie
