Adrenal Cancer

HI,

Almost two yrs ago I was diagnosed with an Adrenal Cyst-told most likely incidental and nothing to worry about-MD did urine test-all neg...

Went back 5 mths ago to MD for Urinary Track Infection-they did CT because I had 3 in about 3 mths time. Cyst had grown from 3.2 to 4.8 cm. Recommended another 24 hour urine which is still negative for hormones. I am on bc pills-not sure ifthis could be affecting resutls or not-ednocrinolgist laughed and said no-sent me to surgeon for removal. He recommended full adrenalecotmy rather than just removing cyst. I declined due to no high blood pressure weight gain, etc.

Now I am having second thoughts, anyone else know anything that would help me make up mind-supposed to have another ct in 3 mths.

Hi. I would say go and get a second opinion. Mum had hers removed before Christmas and I think it was about 4.5 centimetres. They took the whole adrenal out. So far she has been fine. It was a benign one. She was however showing hormone changes before the op. Get as many tests as you can done to always be on the safe side.

Thanks for the advice. Just found out I now have lung cysts now. I am really getting scarred-have another surgery consult for the 14th

Hi again. I can understand that you feel scared. The best thing I could do to help my mum through her nightmare, was to put her onto the Diane Dyer book so that she could take a bit of control of her life while waiting for tests and results. Whether this type of diet actually helps, no one will really know but we feel it is doing her the world of good and has helped her to feel healthy and recover quicker by building back up her red blood cells and her health, and by telling her what foods to avoid. Again I wish you all the best and the word cysts, is not as bad as some other words. 15 years ago I had a cyst, and it dissappeared on its own. Sometimes this can happen. Just keep getting checked.

P.s I read about a guy that lived 40 years after having his adrenal removed.
