Re: Bladder CancerI was just diagnosed with bladder cancer yesterday so I am still in shock. My Doctor absolutly insisted that I go through a full series of tests once I had an incidence of blood in my urine, IVP, blood tests, ultra sound Etc, all of which were negative, He then insisted that I have the scope which showed early bladder cancer. While I am still in shock I am grateful for having a doctor who wanted to be absolutly sure.
Re: Bladder CancerYes, he is excellent, sometimes I think overdoes it on tests but in this case it would not have been found this early. I am now scheduled for outpatient surgery in a week. My Urologist says he is confident. One other thing is that the Cysto, which I was dreading and which I tried to talk my Doctor out of, was not really that bad. I guess that is a good thing as I supose I will be getting many more of them in the comming years.
This sure makes you realize what is truly important in life. Waking up this morning and saying to myself "I have bladder cancer" was a big step. I am 65 years old and otherwise healthy. I have great support and a wonderful wife. Even with this diagnosis I guess I am blessed.
