My mom

Post a new topicby pzastrow on Wed Dec 03, 2008 10:25 pm

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 0 blad cancer in January. In August the doc saw something he wanted to check he came back with Stage 4 Blad cancer that has spread to the liver, spleen and lymph nodes. How does that happen? Highly aggressive is what I was told.
I brought her to IL to live and go through treatment. It's not curative and the chemo only has a 50% chance of working. If it works her life will be prolonged by 1 to two years.
I feel so sad. And watching her in pain hurts. She went through one session (3 weeks) of Chemo and I had to take her to emergency. She had an infection and needed a transfusion. She's 70 (will be 71 in a couple of weeks) and looks like she's 85. She sits all day and doesn't so anything. Not eating well either.
I am not sure how to handle it. My husband and I own our own business and are not home during the day. When we are she doesn't want to do anything.
Any tips on how I can help her?
