Bladder Cancer

my 42 yr old brother has been undergoing the preventative chemo 3weeks every month for last 5 months after bladder removal and now an ostomate. He does not tell us anything other than the oncologist says "all is well" (which is great news) yet a lady i work with talks about tumour markers and red and white blood counts etc. Can anyone tell me what typically happens or what the docs are looking for with every weekly blood test. either he doesnt understand his disease or doesnt ask questions. he is due to have some major tests before seeing the urologist in 2 weeks who performed the original surgery.
