I listed this under the wrong heading so am repeating it.
I am incontinent due to prostate surgery and after lots of research and recent urodynamic tests I have been offered an implant of an artificial sphincter. There are potentially lots of things that might go wrong in an unlucky man, so I am having difficulty in making a decision.
Is there anyone out there who has had this done and can relate their experiences, good or bad, short term or long term.

Hi, I went through the same decision period about a year ago. My tests showed I was a good candidate for the artificial sphincter, but it was tough to convince myself that it was the way to go. I finally tired so much of the incontinence that I decided to get the AUS. Boy, was that I great decision. I had the implant early this year and had it activated on, of all days, April 1. It has worked very, very well. No problem at all. Life has been so much better with the AUS. I'd say go for it if your urologist says you are a good candidate.
