Hi,

I have was having intervenous antibiotics after operation and told to continue for 1 week after n now have swollen sore vagina very itchy so i guess i have thrush nt had it for 13 yrs so now have trying vagisil cream before i get canestan cream cus its all ive got at the moment n dont fancy going to docs should nt have had so many antibiotics should have thought will it go with vagisil cream hope so.

I might have known id get this after operation ugh anyone else or just me.

Antiobiotics usually cause me to get a yeast infection as well...Once you've got it you'll need some medication for it. Next time, on a daily basis and for several days after the antiobiotic course is complete, try eating yogurt with live cultures. Also, you can get OTC acidopholous which should keep the good 'bug's from getting killed!

It's those antibiotics that are the problem. If you're still taking them, you need to top up the levels of good bacteria in your stomach, to help combat the problems your antibiotics are causing.

Start out with natural live yoghurt, and then start adding some prtobiotics to your daily diet.

This should help. Cutting out sugar and yeast from your diet will also do wonders for your yeast infection. I hope this helps.
