Pain on emptying/ejaculatory pain

Post a new topicby macsmaker on Sun Sep 23, 2007 7:37 pm

Not sure if this is the proper forum. If not, I apologize.
I've had chronic UTI's for several years and about 18 months I had a TURP to remove some infected tissued. At least part of my bladder neck was removed. After the surgery I developed three new "problems:"
a. Severe UI. This has been corrected with botox injections.
b. Severe pain if I empty completely when voiding.
c. Severe ejaculatory pain, to the point that I have stopped.

I have had urodynamic testing done that show some detrusor instability. Other than this, two urologists, my primary care doctor, and my infectious diseases doctor's don't have any ideas what could be causing this pain. My current urologist doesn't have any ideas, and it seems little inclinition to help, now that my UI is under control.

Because of the damage done to my bladder neck, I'm wondering if the pain I experience is due to whatever is left of my bladder neck trying to close. Perhaps because some needed afferent nerve endings were removed, the feedback mechanism has been destroyed, and my bladder neck continues to contract which increasing pressure, because the signal to stop is not there anymore. On voiding this can last from 15 seconds to over a minute.

Does this sound plausible? Something to bring up to my doctor?
