Self Cath problem

Post a new topicby NCPilot on Sat Oct 31, 2009 4:51 am

I've had to self cath for as long as I can remember. I insert the cath through a port where my belly button used to be. Usually I can get it go in, but this week, I am having difficulty getting it in. Back when I had this put in, the doctor told me that I'd have to leave the cath in once in awhile to stretch it back out. However, the last time we left it in to stretch it back out, it caused alot of pain. I was only able to leave it in for 3 days instead of the recommended 2 weeks. I was wondering if there's an easier and less painful way to stretch the port back out.

Or an alternative to this type of self cath method.
