T V T Procedure for IncontinenceI have recently learned there is a procedure called TVT that takes 30 minutes in the doctors office. This procedure is inserted through the vagina and a mesh is placed to hold the uretha in place to stop leakage.
I had a birch suspension 8 years ago and it did not last at all. I started to leak years ago. My girlfriend found this TVT procedure and it sounds to good to be true. Is it? My recovery after the birch suspension was horrible and the pain was excrutiating. Does anyone have any info regarding this TVT procedure. S V M
Re: T V T Procedure for IncontinenceTVT stands for Trans Vaginal Tape used to form a sling to support the bladder neck. Given your previous surgery you probable have Intrinsic Sphincter Dysfunction which is best treated with a sling. There are many different slings out there with TVT being one of them. However, although possible, I don't know of many or anyone doing them in their office. Can be done as an outpatient with no real down time. There are some new slings coming out that will be true office procedures.Good luck.
Re: T V T Procedure for IncontinenceNot sure if you are still interested but my mother had this done 4yrs ago and I have just had it done 6wks ago.
Me and my mum had ous done under a general (day surgery). My mum said she notice immediate results with very little pain and to date she is still running and jumping like a 5yr old. My self on the other hand found the surgey was not very painful at all but it has not worked so well for me. I am still the same and now have urge incontinence, which I never had before. I am waiting to be assessed for it now. Good Luck.
