BPH

Newcomer to these boards.

I am a 47 year old healthy male who was diagnosed with BPH about four years ago. I have learned to live with my symptoms. I do get the occassional flareup but other than that I am living my life.

I have a total physical last Friday and passed with flying colors except for my cholesterol which is not related to my post. There was no evidence of blood in my urine whether visible or microscopically.

Anyway, I noticed a little more urgency yesterday. I made the mistake of eating spicy Thai food which I think might have aggravated this more for me. After leaving the restaurant and on my drive home I had to go so bad I thought that I would not make it. This does not happen more than a couple of times a year.

In any event after urinating I was fine.

Later that night after I ejaculated I had the need to urinate but could not. Once I finally did the flow was decent but I noticed a few drops of blood in the bowl. Since this was the first time I had seen this I am a little alarmed. It did not happen again since the first time last night. I have made an appointment with my uro for my annual checked up.

From what I have researched on the web this is a normal occurrence for those of us afflicted with bph I am concerned because I am still feeling a burning today and because I know this cannot be a good thing. Tending to be somewhat of a worry wart I am taking this pretty calmly for me.
