discomfort after laser op on enlarged prostateI had an operation for an enlarged prostate three months ago using a laser treatment.
I am still suffering from extreme discomfort in the penis and scrotum area after urination which last for some time, as it diminishes it is replaced by a need to pass water has anyone else had these symptoms and what causes them
Re: discomfort after laser op on enlarged prostateI had the holmium laser enucleation of the prostate on 6\9\2009. I had a catheter for a week, they took it out this past Monday. Everything appears to be fine. Had a flow test when they took the catheter out and only had 2 oz left as opposed to a liter before the surgery. I have no pain peeing, just occasional traces of blood that they said to expect. The only discomfort I have is a tiny bit of pain on the bottom vein that runs the length of the penis if I squeeze the penis a little. Which surgery procedure did you have.
Re: discomfort after laser op on enlarged prostateOk, this may be different but when I was a kid my Dad had a vasectomy and a couple of weeks later he was having some major discomfort so my Mom put him in a bath with epsom salt and after about a half an hour a big blood clot came out the end of his penis and then the pain was gone.
Can't hurt it's natural. Hope this helps. P.S. They did not share this story with me until I was an adult.
