Not sure whats wrong

Post a new topicby Kdizzle on Wed Mar 05, 2008 4:12 pm

I am new on here was just searching the internet for possibilities of what is wrong with me. When I turned 18 I got a real bad UTI after my first time having sex (we were both complete virgins). The next couple years I got them quite a bit. A lot of time I had pain while urinating but the doctor said it wasnt an infection and sent me on my way. They tested me for STDs and it came up negative. I am now 24 and altho it happens less often I would say at least a couple times a month I get a real sharp pain while peeing and it will last a good half our to hour afterwards. Just uncomfortable, especially when I sit. I am ready to go get it fixed though. This has been 6 years and its ridiculous. Do I go see my regular family doctor who I have really only seen once before or should I go to some kind of specialist? If a specialist, what kind?

Thanks for any help guys!!

From prior experince I have found that family doctors really can only help you so much when it comes to these types of problems. You need to go see a urologist for a full checkup.

hope that helps.
