rapaflo? My doctor gave me rapaflo for BPH In general, its in the same category as flomax. It helps, but I think it makes we feel generally somewhat weak and tired. I mentioned this to the doctor and he said that would go away over time as I get used to it. Has anyone on rapaflo, or flomax etc., experienced such symptoms and had them gotten better over time?
Re: rapaflo?Yes, some of these drugs for BPH do have that side-effect and sometimes it takes a while to get used to it or to have it subside. I took Flomax for years and sometimes wondered why I felt that way, but I eventually got used to it. Read the info. sheet that comes with the drug and you will see the many side effects of these drugs. Hopefully, you won't experience them for long. If you do, tell your urologist for sure. Also, be careful driving, etc. while first taking these. Look at the precautions and it's scary, but I think in general, these drugs are well tolerated. Also, it's important to know if you are taking any other medications that might have an effect as well. I'm sure you know all this, but I thought I'd put in my usual two cents. Wishing you well.
Re: rapaflo?i had been on flomax for several years and was never able to determine if it actually worked. according to my doctor, it sounds like there is some sort of restriction in my bladder neck and my prostate is okay. i think there was a slight improvement in urine flow with flomax but really seems to depend on time of day or my energy level.
i usually dont have a lot of extra energy so i couldnt tell if flomax (or rapaflo) increased fatigue or not. occassionally (not all the time) i would notice a fainting sensation when i was on flomax and stood up fast from a crouching position. so i would slow down for a few seconds to get my bearings or balance. i recently told my doctor that i am not sure if flomax worked so he started me on rapaflo about 1 week ago. i was only on .4 mg of flomax but he gave me 8.0 mg of rapaflo. i will have to clarify that with him on my next visit in august. no significant improvement with rapaflo yet. rapaflo almost same as flomax. but i think the rapaflo has a stronger retrograde ejaculation? no noticeable fatigue or dizziness yet with rapaflo. i think the next option is some sort of incision to bladder neck muscle? doctor did a cystoscopy about 1 or 2 years ago and sounded like the doctor had to push harder than he expected, plus an intense sharp pain for about 2 seconds as he pushed camera thru the bladder neck. so i came across this website as part of my research to get up to speed on all the possible options, etc. so to answer your question: so far no major fatigue problem with rapaflo but no major improvement in urine flow either.
