fwiw - here's an update from the fellow who had the REVALIX proceedure.

After reading this account I'm feeling better about having had the roto-rooter TURP done at the end of last November.

Disaster!

Everything was going fine from the laser procedure, etc - and so I went to the doctor's office yesterday morning (Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008) to to have my catheter removed.

That was easy, he told me to drink lots of liquids, etc.

Upon return to my daughter's home - I readily passed - but the flow was still weak and short.

We did a few errands (WalMart, etc) and I had to go very, very frequently. Then in Walmart I had trouble starting my flow.

Upon returning to my daughter's home - I LOCKED UP and could not go at all. I immediately called Tansey's office to come in. As we drove there my pain became excruciating. By the time I arrive at his office I was almost screaming with pain.

It took him another 30 minutes or so to place in a new catheter - and I was in the very worst pain period of my life. The episode was so traumatic - that it has taken something out of my vitality. I feel very weak, exhausted and discouraged.

He has rescheduled to have the new catheter removed on Monday at 2:30 PM.
