Trans Urethral Needle Ablation

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Sep 16, 2005 3:09 pm

i had this procedure 8 weeks ago. Post operatively it's been difficult with many symtoms. Although there has been gradual improvement, I have limitations. For example, I am still wearing diapers. It has been depressing and although I did a lot of research on this procedure and the MD had done many of them, I was disappointed. The MD says I had a "high bladder" which I understand to mean the prostate is growing into the bladder neck and the radio frequency waves can irritate the blader, etc.
Medial and lateral englargement is the usual case, but "high bladder" is more difficult altough this MD was confident he could handle it. It is clear that improvement , if any, will take some time in my case. As of now I don't believe I could recommend it, especially if a person had a prostate with my peculiarities.

Most people do not see the start of improvement for 6 to 8 weeks with total improvement seen at 3 months. In my hands this procedure works best in smaller prostates uo to 60 grams

UroDoc,
If you had this BPH problem, and you had a choice, would you go with TUNA or PVP Green Light Laser?
Thanks
