abnormal MRI results...cause for concern?

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Apr 15, 2002 4:16 pm

"Mild cortical atrophy, slightly increased, a few, non specific white matter lesions, slightly increased in number, consistent with foci of ischemia, demyelination or gliosis. No posterior fossa or internal auditory canal mass." Have called my neurologist office for a month to find out results and was told I would have heard from them if abnormal and was able to get them on my own and wondered of this MRI should concern me as the same type done one year ago had detected a few small non specific areas of high signal within white matter of cerebral hemispheres but felt no significance.

You understand that without seeing your studies it would be difficult for me to comment on your findings.
The description you give me sounds pretty unremarkable, but without knowing your age and general health, I really could not comment further.
