chronic epididymitsI have had chronic epididymitis for more than year now. I've seeing several urulogists and had ultrasounds as well. They found a small cyst on the right epididymus but very small. The pain is mostly on the right testicle(in the epididymus region). The epididymus and skin feels tender to touch. Life like this is very difficult because of the discomfort and constant pain. I'va taking all sorts of medications ( antibiotics, anti inflammatories, pain medicine) , herbs, injections etc and have gotten only minor relief. Can anyone please help me any advice treatment or anythining that will help me I will be forever thankful. This is simple not a way to live. No one can live with constant pain and discomfort please help
Re: chronic epididymitsI see you posted this some time ago so I hope you get my reply. I don't know what you know about chronic epididimitis, but I am sure you have found out it is a horrible condition and extremely difficult to get rid of. I just had my complete epididimis removed eight weeks ago and let me tell you it is a pretty horrible operation that takes a good five or six weeks to recover from. Unfortunately it hasn't made a shred of difference. Chronic epididmitis is usually non bacterial which means that the likely hood is urine at some time entered the epididimis and chemically infected it. The problem is that whilst antibiotics can help an extended course is required, however if urine continues to enter it you will never get well. As well as this you have to hope that the testicle its self doesn't get infected. In my case I think this what happened. I have been told the next step is to have my testicles removed. Now I have had the epididimis removed I may request an extended course of cypro on the off chance it works. OH, and by the way the cause is either a blow to your nuts or heavy lifting.
Good Luck, you will need it.
Re: chronic epididymits
Hi,
What is a orchietomy? what does this involve thanks
A unilateral orchietomy is the removal of one testicle and a bilateral orchietomy is both. Regrettably I will be having one of these myself. Having one lobbed isn't so bad, however having them both removed creates hormonal probs.
