It hurts to have intercourse...Can anyone help me?? I'm 28yrs old and have been married for 6 yrs, I was a virgin when we got married. At first I expected it to hurt, everyone told me it would, but then it didn't get any better. I figured it wasn't supposed to hurt but I was to embarrassed to discuss it with my husband. Finally when I kept rejected his advances he made me tell him. Fortunalty I have an amazing husband who didn't get mad or didn't turn his back, instead he just hugged me and told me he loved me and said he wouldn't pressure me, and he would support me. I talked to my primary MD, who referred me to a physical therapist that works with pelvic wall disorders. I went to 3 months of this therapy and then even to a shrink, because I have dealt with this for 6 years, the physical thearpist thought maybe its in my head. Well the therpist helped a little but I still have pain with intercourse. I've tried creams, overlubericating, strecths, relaxtion techniques, deep breathing, E-Stem, and more. Its so emotionally draining and I feel so alone. Its hard to talk to my wonderful husband, he listens and holds me when I cry, but he still doesn't understand. Alot of my friends are virgins, so I feel like I can't talk to them, the friends that do have sex say its the greatest thing ever, so I can't talk to them. My sister is a virgin and is recently engaged, I don't want to talk to her and scare her off sex before she has it. My mom is great but not the greatest to talk to in this capacity. So if anyone is out there this my plea for help. Any suggestions, I'm sick of crying,
Re: It hurts to have intercourse...If you have any urinary symptoms you might want to consider Interstitial cystitis which you can read about on this website, good luck.
Re: It hurts to have intercourse...No, I don't have any urinary symptoms. I have already been dx. with Vestibulitis, Dyspareunia (painful intercourse) and the following tx. have not worked: Stretching, Electrical Stimulation, relaxation techniques, creams/ointments, over-lubrication, all from a Physical Therapist, OBGYN, and practice with my husband. Nothing seems to work, is there anything else out there that we haven't tried!?
Thank you for any help everyone, aneums
Re: It hurts to have intercourse...you might want to consider acupuncture or seeing a sex therapist
Re: It hurts to have intercourse...I think your husband may be too large and a little ruff. If the pain occurs when he is inside you it could be that your cervix is very sensative and I dont know how that would be treated. I have pains at times and thats when my partner is too aggressive, he may be gentle with you now but it could be the all the years (from the start) of ruff sex that has made u extra sensative. And p.s to the both of you he may be gantle but like I said you could be a very sensative person in your cervical area.
