left pelvic ache / urine retention

Post a new topicby hopetofeelbetter on Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:39 pm

I'm 40 & female, I have a dull left pelvic ache, I have strange periods, & times of urine retention, that I have a catheter to use if needed.

I've been examined by obgyn, family physicians, a surgeon looking a hernia, but none was found.

So I'm scheduled for a laproscopy, d&C, ablation, tubal ligation,

I just am wondering if I shouldn't get my urologist back involved? All obgyn tests, ultrasounds, trasvaginal ultrasounds, Ct scan with iodine contrast, is coming up with nothing except for a note that says, I my have a bicornuate / septated uterus.

Is there a cross over between obgyn work & urologist in this pelvis area. My family doctor wanted me to see a gastroenterologist, but I didn't.

Can my urologist be helpful in finding the cause of this dull ache? would my obgyn know if the urologist would be helpful?

DRL
