Unable to Pee, Don't know what kind of Doctor to call

Post a new topicby searching101 on Sat Sep 15, 2007 8:36 am

Hi,

This has been a bad couple of months, I've had my period for 30 days, All my tests are fine, but I can't seem to pee. I just sit there. If I push extremely hard I can get several drops.

My one option is to seek another obgyn. or maybe there is a connection between a bladder problem & my menstrual cycle. (I did try to douche because of my exces sive blood clots I was passing maybe my equipment wasn't clean enough. )

I also have a feeling of pressure on (what I think is my ovary) It's on my left side between my bellybutton & hip. But my obgyn told me that in my ultra sound I don't have any problems with my ovary.

Do you have any thoughts what kind of Doctor I should seek next?

Thank you
Diane

You should see a urologist. You need a urinalysis to make sure that you do not have an infection or blood in your urine. You should have an ultrasound of our bladder after you urinate o see if you are emptying or not. Depending on this test you may have retention (probable not) or perhaps an over active bladder. Other possible tests depending on what is found is a cystoscopy (looking on your bladder with a small telescope) and possible urodymanics, good luck.
