Who treats female sexual dysfunction?

Post a new topicby Crys on Thu May 28, 2009 11:39 am

I have been on birth control since 15. I am now 30. I stopped breifly twice to get pregnant at 22 and 24. Ive been reading a lot on low testosterone in women and high SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) in women who take the pill. I have very little sensation in my clitoris, and nipples. I find it VERY difficult to orgasm. Matter of fact, i think ive only started to experience this in the last few months (weak ones) with the help of my new boyfriend. My family doctor found low testosterone (.6 nmol/l) in my blood. I have other symptoms like fatigue, lack of drive, sometimes low lubrication, joint/muscle pain, etc that i have read all can be connected to low testosterone I have discontinued the pill almost 6 weeks ago.

I really need to know what kind of specialists i should see that will take the time to LISTEN to me and try to find a solution to this. Every doctor i go to so far seems to not have a clue about womens sexual health. Its maddening. Once i am armed with the right information, i will demmand to see the specialists i need. An ObGyn? Endorcrinologist? I also suffer from IBS, which can be tied in possibly.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!!! If you have had the same problems, please comment!
