Hematuria

Just found this site as i was researching Hematuria I have suffered with blood in the urine for a long time. I always put it down to "that time of the month" when my doc found blood in my urine because i was either just starting or just finishing menstruating. but 8 years ago i had a hysterectomy so that ruled that cause out. I was eventually referred to a specialist last May and when i seen the "young Doc" i thought he would just pass me off as a hypocondriac. but fair play to him he said i could have Hematuria after i told him my story and all the infections and antibiotics i had been on over the years. I had never heard of this disease before, he did say that there was two types of this disease and thought i had the mild form. I had blood tests done and urine samples taken. when i did the urine it was very red looking that day which surprised me as i had no symptoms. I haven't got my results back yet. i am going for a cystoscopy in Oct and then back to doc so will see what results are then. i have noticed a very sharp pain that i get in both sides not quite where my kidneys are and often wonder if this is something connected to blood in urine does anyone else get a very sharp pain in either right or left side (i get it in both)?. my daughter also has blood in her urine and is going for an mri scan, also my nephew has had blood in urine too and had a cystoscopy but they found nothing.
