cutaneous candidiasis in skin folds

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Mar 29, 2002 5:19 pm

Would redness of the gluteal folds be a manifestation of cutaneous candidiasis? What other symptomatic features would this condition have? I was reading about oral thrush and it led to this topic-I never really check that area of my body and it appears that I might have this. Of course, I don't really know what the normal color of the skin in this area is since I don't usually look there-sounds dumb but it is true!
As you can tell, I have been doing a lot of reading and really appreciate having this board for feedback-wish more people used it!

Many, possibly most people have some reddness in their gluteal fold. Yeast naturally grows in dark moist places. People without hiv will have yeast growing in their groin or around that general region. That's a normal variant.
