Fertility after seed implant for prostate cancer

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri May 10, 2002 7:01 pm

If a man undergoes implant of radio-active seeds AND radiation treatment for prostate cancer I am aware that he will not be fertile after full treatment. However, is his sperm still alive between the seed implant and the the radiation treatments (approx. 4 weeks)? I am aware that after the complete treatment for prostate cancer that he will not be fertile. Just wondering if the 4 week window from seed implant to radiation is still viable Or do the radioactive seeds kill any active sperm?
