premature menopause during childbearing years

Post a new topicby maskren1 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 3:13 pm

I had irregular periods as a teenager and into my 20's. During my late 20's and early 30's, my husband and I tried to start our family and were not successful. During initial infertility work up, the specialist discovered a high FSH and I was diagnosed with menopause at the age of 34. We were in shock and devastated. At that point our marriage began its decline. In looking back, I wish we had sought counseling for that loss. We are now divorced and I have since sought counseling on my own. I would strongly encourage anyone who is experiencing infertility to get counseling from a competent professional.
