Secondary infertility complicated by EDMy husband and I have a 20-month-old son and are having trouble conceiving our second child. Last month I went through a series of tests and my OB/Gyn confirmed what I suspected because of light periods. I’m not ovulating. This month I did the Clomid Challenge and an injection of Ovidrel, which did cause me to ovulate. Although my husband wants to have another child, he feels anxious about it and the infertility drugs I’m taking only heighten this feeling. When I ovulated he was unable to maintain an erection. Instead of having intercourse, he ejaculated into a condom and I inserted it inside me with a syringe. He is able to have sex at other times, when the pressure is not on.
Can we succeed in getting pregnant this way? His sperm has not been tested, but we succeeded in having one child already and the fertility problem is clearly mine. Should we move on to IUI, which is not covered by our insurance, or give this method a chance? Someone suggested not telling him when I'm ovulating, but he knows my cycle even better than I do. Thanks for your help
Re: Secondary infertility complicated by EDYou still can get pregnant this way but the likelyhood is less because when sperm hits the air it tends to die .IUI may be a good alternative in your case.
