Continuing symptoms Of cystitis

I was diagnosed wtih intersitial cystitis when I was about 17, right after my son was born. I am now 36 y.o. I have had extreme, though less bouts of pain and each time all urinalysis show lack of infection, though blood in urine occurs occasionally.

You did not mention whether you had been on the diet recommended for IC. I never eat or drink anything that is not allowed and I am on Elmiron (full dose), taking hepbrin instillations, and I use
Prelief (to neutralize acid in foods.) Doing this for 3 mos. After five years I am now without pain or frequency. You have to be strick with this. It is hard, but it is worth it. Good Luck.

I thought I read that they can repair bladder ulcers through laser surgery. That should be something to consider -- get plenty of opinions first and interviews of those who've had it done!

My post of March 13,2008 stated that I have been free of pain and frequency for five years. I do not know how that got there but I have only been on medication for 4 months. I guess that was just an
error. I am getting very slowly better.
