IC & other problemsSo I was diagnosed with ic a couple years ago. I arrived at the doctor complaining of the sharp inescapable and increasing pain in my lower area. Doc sent me on my way with a dozen weak codeine pills and a script for antibiotics to combat possible infection. I returned pretty quick feeling even worse, but the codeine did provide some mild temporary (1-2 days) relief. Even after discussing it with a few doctors and trying some of the known methods, no luck.... Doctor visits became repetitive, expensive, and an overall waste of money only to find opiates can provide temporary relief. But, doctors are most reluctant to perscribe for chronic symptoms, especially to a 22 year old.
These days my condition has become even worse. Foremost, the lack of support from doctors has left me with a physical dependency for opium. Trying to taper my doses down a bit now but very painful indeed. Continuing on, I have this blood in the urine problem, It can really ruin my day when a spasm at the urinal causes me to pee blood on myself. Then I have a somewhat often prostate bleed issue. Any solutions would be welcome. Not sure how much longer this medicate yourself routine can continue to work. Maybe I should make it clear that I do not drink opium to get high and only that I may evade ill effects. Lately this situation has left me quite miserable in many ways. -W
