My mother is really ill.

Post a new topicby madmax1984 on Mon Jan 21, 2008 10:26 am

Hello everyone, I really hope you can help me. My mother has been ill with a urine problem and she's currently at peek stress levels, which in turn is starting to affect us all. She doesn't talk about it much really so I don't know a great deal about exactly what the problems are but I know she's had lots of different kinds of tablets for it and non of them seem to work for more than a week or two before the problems come back. Even with my completely non medical background, I know enough to know that so many tablets can't be good for you. Is there anything you know of that will make her better?

Max.

I've been doing my homework :D It seems that lots of online sources are saying to avoid cranberry/orange juice, red meats and also to keep alcohol to a minimum. Also lots of them are suggesting a sugar of some sort called dmannose.... Any thoughts? Or indeed any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's very quiet here... Is this forum still active? ...Anyway, it had to happen sometime... Crunch time came and I finally managed to pluck up the courage I required to express my conscerns to my mother. Seems that I'd been making a fuss about nothing. Apparently the doctor said she has an acute e-coli infection. I was on the right track so I'm slightly pleased with myself about that, don't worry though, I'm not running for a doctorate just yet :P

Probably more so than anything, I was pleased to find out that she was thrilled that I'd been trying to get help from people like yourselves which put me much more at ease for the rest fo the conversation.

So there ya have it, e-Coli, I hope that helps.

Great news people, I mentioned the waterfall dmannose to my mother and she seemed to think she had heared of it before from a friend but didn't remember what it was for. So Anyway, she contacts her friend to check it out and it turned out she even had some spare to give her. She's been using it for just a couple of days and she says that there's already a huge difference. Seriously, what are the chances, how on Earth had she not been using it all this time when her 'friend' had had some of it all along? Anyway, things are looking up and she seems much more cheery on the whole. Thank you so much for any input on this one, all help was really appreciated :) xXx

I am really confused, if your mom just has an e-coli infection then why does she need the special sugar called damnnose. Has your mom had an on going issue with her urinary system or is this a first time? I'm just trying to make sure she isn't overlooking IC as a potential problem. My hope for your mom would be that it is just a UTI, because it is curable where as IC is not> Good luck! Hilah

I use WDM too, and I've been well as a side effect since I've been using it.

Wish your mother all the best form me, and I'm glad that she's found the same miracle product that I adore :P
