Interstitial Cystitis

I was wondering if other people had also sought help from more than one physician. The first physician that I had was not a very nice person. He basically told me that it was my fault that I had the disease as bad as I did. I am not a smoker, do not consume caffeine, do not drink alcohol... so not sure why he felt that way. Then I found the most wonderful urologist in the world. He has tried so hard... we have tried several different medications, diets, physical therapy etc. His compassion is amazing. But he feels that it was time for other opinions. I did go to a large university hospital for a 3rd opinion. But they basically said that I was at end stage... I am now headed to MayoClinic. Has anyone had luck with any new non traditional type treatments? I am desperate. I do not want to lose my bladder.
