I am 37 yo who had Ultrasound gallbladder at time it noted abnormal appearance of my rt kidney stated possible dual anomaly furr eval to clarify or r/o mass, renal obstruction, occult calculi. A CT out contrast ordered it stated enlarged rt kidney, low in abdomen it is malrotated misshapen, dual anomaly confirmed. However, I cannot r/o mass at time do to limited data pt couldn't use dye at present. I personally do not underst. I know in 1983 I had been dx dual anamoly grade I reflux irritation. In 1998 a Ultrasound done to r/o mass on ovary stated abnormal appearance to rt kidney. pt has relatively dense cortexes, no hydronehrosis or stone at present. abnormality possibly old infection. I have had many infections over time my question or things could cause a kidney to enlarge? Do feel is a cancer worry should I seek out an onc? I did recently repeat CT contrast have to wait all weekend bee I know. I do not have eir a kidney doctor or Onc yet! Darcy

I would suggest obtaining a second opinion from both an oncologist and a urologist. The kidney may be enlarged for multiple reasons but the most important thing to rule out is overt or occult malignancy. thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
