Kidney Cancer

I have had severe pain on right side and back area. I had an ultrasound in January and another 2 days ago. I was told it was a cyst on right kidney and should be ok. The ultrasound from 2 days ago shows an exophytic nodular density that does NOT meet the criteria for a simple cyst and further evaluation is warranted. What do you think it is?? I have a 3-phase dedicated renal CT on a high resolution spiral CT scanner tomorrow. I am really scared. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The CT is much more able to discern whether you have a cyst or tumor. Hopefully it is not a tumor suspicious of being kidney cancer. If it is suspicious of being kidney cancer and has not spread surgical intervention PRIOR to the spread of any kidney cancer will result in close to a 100% recovery. I have been there and done that. My post under 5 years and counting and reply under the Surgery post will hopefully keep you in the right frame of mind if it is Kidney Cancer. There is nothing wrong with being scared. I sure was when I was told I had Kidney Cancer, but refuse to be any longer.

Please, I am waiting for my ct results. If you come back online could you include a post of what you found out. This crap really sucks & waiting is really hard. I am doing constant research to try to determine if I HAVE IT, very possible & what stage. Also I am afraid of lung & bone mets. I an Canadian & have been sick since October. I had a doctor at first who did not believe me & did basically nothing. I now have a new doctor but I don't know her well so that is not the best but I guess better than the previous !!!
