Incontinence, UTI's, possible Kidney Infection???I am a 38y/o male and have been battling frequent UTI's (6 over the last 8 months). I also have developed incontinence from the whole ordeal. For a year before this all started I was dealing with severe lower back pain that nothing helped. After my third UTI, my PCP prescribed a 3 week course of Cipro and everything including the back pain went away. When the fourth UTI came along, the incontinence started and now 1 month after my last UTI the back pain is back. My urologist prescribed a one month course of trimethoprim. He's tested everything from the chest down and can't find anything. My questions that he can't answer...
How long can one have a kidney infection and not show signs of it? Could the frequency of the UTI's contribute to the incontinence? It is like my bladder doesn't want any urine in it and forces it out immediately. Would trimethoprim take care of the kidney infection? Thanks, Allen
