Three years ago I had a very large kidney stone that had to be surgically removed. They put a stent in and after 3 days I was told to pull it out gently. The removal of the stent was pretty painless, but the next 36 hours were horrible! It felt worse than when I had the original stone in. I was vomiting and doubled over in pain. I didn't sleep. I vowed that I would never go through that again.

This wasn't my first kidney stone, but it was the first that I didn't pass myself. Up till a few days ago I haven't had another episode, but last friday I doubled over in pain. Monday they did a CT scan. Of course its a kidney stone....and the best news...the doctor said I have "lots" more in both kidney's. This stone is small enough to pass. But I haven't had any luck yet.

Good luck to you! I hope your experience with the stent is not like mine was!
