Kidney Stones

I can’t believe that in this day and age Doctors can’t find a solution to these buggers. I’ve had episodes of stones since 1987. Currently I have an 11mm stone in my left and 3 smaller ones in the right. I’ve tried their suggestions over the years(1st, don’t eat calcium) tried that for a year got stones! 2nd Try vit D and Frozen lemonade and 2 sources of calcium a day. Still have stones. I hear you. . I have only had kidney stones for two years but it has been the longest two years of my life. I never had a health problem until I got recurring UTIs and you guessed it was stones down there big ones, not little ones both sides, 1-3cm taken out in the flank, then 5 treatments later and one more treatment scheduled, lasertripsy a treatment i havent had yet. I never had a problem with water until i was told to drink more. . . i told them I have they dont pass. I had stones when analyzed that were all infectious, the struvite triple phosphate stones. Mine like to play peekabo in the lower poles after ESWL. Then i have to pee in a cup for two weeks for three months. . . my urine is persistently alkaline like motor oil. . The stones I have usually dont pass they branch out to the collecting ducts of the kidneys where they can destroy an entire kidney and yes you quessed it I read this in a book.

They can dissolve uric acid but not mine. It doesnt make me feel any more better when the you hear the urinary crystals I have look like coffin lids. . . .and yes again you guessed it I read this in a book.

My doctors havent given me much information or explained very well why my stones dont pass. . .

I dont know why they cant make any more medicine to dissolve these critters. . . they are sure annoying. . and frustrating especially when you drink fluids all day and nothing happens or move.

Hang in there. . . i never thought I would have to rely on the bathroom so much or spend so much time in there. . . then i have to bring in a strainer or coffee filter but since my stones dont pass i dont have to pan for gold.

if i dont keep my sense of humor i start to cry.

I hope you get better. being a female stone patient doesnt make it any better, either. if i was a male stone patient they would probably be more apt to believe my pain & symptoms since this is the only health problem i have.
