Kidney Stones

My doctor told me recently that there is evidence of an extrarenal pelvis on my right kidney. Does anyone know what this is? She also told me not to worry as long as I'm not having any UTI's. This weekend I started having flank pain, a nasty headache and some other related symptoms. All the symptoms seem to come and go - mostly effecting me at night or in the morning. She described it to me like this: "Your right kidney has shifted a little but seems to be working fine. It looks a little different than the left kidney but you were probably born with it. We don't need to follow-up at this time." I'm a little worried about the weird twinges and pain on my right side. Should I be? I would appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thank you.
