HELP! Advice needed!Hi, my name is Jennifer. June 24th I began urinating blood. I went to the doctor and they diagnosed me with a kidney stone in the left kidney, two stones in the right kidney, and one stuck in my urethra. My doctor sent me to the ER to get pain meds and meds to help me pass them. They prescribed me Naproxen and nothing else. On June 29th the pain got so intense i was taken by ambulance back to the ER. They then prescribed me FloMax and 15 Norco along with Phenigrin. They also confirmed I had a 4mm stone embedded in my urethra and now i have three stones in the right kidney and two in the left. Here it is July 14th and things are just getting worse. The pain in my sides are just insane and my ureter hurts soooo bad. I am still urinating blood as well. My doctor will not allow me to work right now but is expecting me to wait until July 30th for a urology appointment. The truth is I am not sure I can go that long without pain meds. Ive called my doctor 3 days in a row and cannot get a call back even to see if they can call me something in. I guess I am just curious if I should make another ER trip or should I bear with it as long as I can until the urology appointment? Can someone please help me?
Re: HELP! Advice needed!I meant to say I had Norco but now I am out of pain meds. I can barely urinate now and it feels like i have a ton of pressure down there but I cant urinate very well. 16 days just seems like a very, very long time away until I see the Urologist. Earlier this evening the pains were so bad i was doubled over and it took my breath away. My face turned white, my lips were white and I almost passed out. I am just wondering if going to the ER is the best way to go. I am starting to get frustrated and fed up.
Re: HELP! Advice needed!Since I wrote yesterday the pain has progressively gotten worse. My stomach has swelled up that it makes me look about 7 months pregnant. The pain is so intense I cant see straight. Im giving it one more night I guess and then I will go to the Er tommorrow if no better. I can currently only urinate a few drops at a time and I have an insane amout of pressure. Does anyone have any advice for me? I feel like I am dyeing. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Go back to the ER and tell them that you need pain medicine. Any doctor that would make you wait three weeks with kidney stones doesn't understand. This is an emergency. Also ask the ER for Pyridium, which will help, along with a heating pad or a hot shower. If they won't give you any Pyridium, go to Walmart and get some AZO and take 2-4 pills every 6 hours -- it will help. You may also want to get a referal to another urologist immediately. Be sure to bring all your paperwork and X-rays with you. Force fluids -- a minimum of 64 oz of water, cranberry juice. Avoid anything carbonated, especially Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Tea, etc. Avoid chocolate and foods with added calcium. On TV commercials for FLOMAX, I believe that women are not supposed to handle this drug, so make sure to do some research on your own, and bring a list of all medications you have taken for this problem. As one who has been in agony with kidney stones, you have my deepest sympathy, and I am sorry you are suffering. I will keep you in my prayers. Catherine
