Is it in my bladder...?

Post a new topicby rolfefox on Tue Feb 03, 2009 1:11 am

I am 61 year old male. Two days ago I started getting pain and trouble urinating..
It turned into intense pain located in lower abdomen..I was able to pee small amounts
getting only seconds of reflief...after 6 hours the pain finally subsided and I have been fine since.
I did not know to pee through a screen and do not know if a stone passed?
Again I feel fine now but is there a chance it is still in my bladder and the pain was it passing from my kidney..? any information is much apreciated.

From what I understand the pain is usually from the stone passing through the urethra into the bladder. Once the stone hits the bladder the pain should subside substantially. It is possible that it is still in your bladder, but it is hard to tell since you didn't strain, and even if you did sometimes they are quite small and hard to find.

I'm glad you're feeling better! I hope this information was a bit helpful for you. :)

For most people, the worse pain is when your stone passes down your ureter into your bladder. while that happens, you might notice some urine retention. You may have passed it or it may still be in your bladder. But if it is in your bladder. you will probably pass it within a few days, although the pain might not be as bad. Good Luck! Take my advice and drink TONZ of water.

I had a 10 hours episode today of severe pain then it subsided completely however I have not passed the stone. I too PRAY that its in the bladder. I had shorter less painful episodes off and on for the past two weeks.
