7mm Kidney stoneHi I have a kidney stone..not been told what type!!! Very long story!!!! anyway my latest CT KUB has shown that it is 7 mm and is sitting in a tight sac. My urologist has recommended "we leave things well alone" and will see me in six months and rescan to check it's size again! I was told before that it was in a cyst in my kidney. I am worried as a previous scan has said my uteter is only 2mm wide and i don't want to end up as an accute admission!!! Has anyone else heard of a stone inside a cyst? Can the cyst pop? Is there anyone who can throw any light onto the best way to remove it.....have previously been down lithotripsy road...again long story...didn't happen because they couldn't locate my kidney!!! This 2 year tooing and froing between too different consultants has left me confused!!
Hope someone can help with my confusion
Re: 7mm Kidney stoneHi!! The last two months I have had 6 stones and have had surgury twice to have them removed. I am at my wits end the last two yeas i have been in several times to have them removed. Now I am having UTI almost every month, I can not get any answers, but this week I am seeing a new doctor. But what i will tell you, is that I will never leave a stone that is big enough that it will not pass after what happed to me last September. I started to get a fever, went to doctor, he sent me straight to the hospital, I had infection, the stone was stuck, so he did surgury, but when he removed the stone the infection fled into the blood stream and I became Septic and was in Intensive care for a week, very very sick. So when i have a stone I want it out, and i check my temperature often to make sure there is no fever. But does anyone have any advise for me, or have the same problem of multible stones. Thanks for any advise!
Re: 7mm Kidney stoneHey there.. I had a 6mm stone. I had surgery to remove it. Turns out that I had already passed it and had the surgery anyway because my Dr was not thorough. I took Flomax to help open up my urethra. I had that stone for 1yr in my kidneys. So there is hope. I know you are freaking out. I think the stress to pass it does not help either. It has been a year since that stone and I have only had 1 since then. It took me a month to recover from my surgery not a week like the Dr said. And I am in my 30's. Good luck with your stone. I am also doing a 24 UA collection for the company Litholink. Ask your Dr about this. I send you healing ju ju your way.
Re: 7mm Kidney stoneHi! Just read your post, i have never heard of Litholink, but just Googled it to read about it. Have they helped you? Does your doctor have to refer you to them? I need to take charge of this kidney stone probleem because I fel like i am geting no where with my doctors. They are controlling my life, i m afraid to even go out of town, because both Kidneys have multible stones in them and I never no when one will pop out. Thanks!
