Obesity/Overweight

I have a neice for whom I am gaurdian. She is 13, very unmotivated and is getting very very obese. She is under five foot tall and is already 217 lbs. I am scared for her because her legs are enourmous.
I do not know what else to do to help her. Anyone dealing with this in a teen and has any ideas or answers or input of any kind...please reply

Oh yes we have tried diets, or shall I say limiting portions and choices to healthy foods and healthy serving sizes and yet as soon as she is out of the house she goes and finds food elsewhere. She seems addicted and is just completely unmotivated to limit herself at all.

If your teenager sleeps in a bedroom filled with alien gases from a gas cooker downstairs then she will suffer oxygen deprivation (hypoxia). Get her to open her windows. Further treatment is deep breathing of clean air. David

Hope she lives in a large house and her bedroom is far from any sourse of thet type of gas or cooking equipment. All that would be on the other side of her home.
She attends a private boarding acadamy in Hershey PA Called the Milton Hershey School. She lives a 5 million Dollar Student home which by the way is immaculate!

This reminds me of my childhood days where I was put on a strict diet. ohhh I was very obese. I was restricted to have chocolates and icecreams. Put on a diet with lots of fruits and salads. I was denied an extra serving at lunch and dinner. But I had a glass of nourishment drink every morning. This diet went on for few months and I was able to get rid of those extra flabs
