Zoey & Karie’s Story - VUR

I (Karie) am 30 years old and was diagnosed with reflux at age 2. I underwent a ureter reimplantation at 28 months and have been well since. It was a major surgery back then. I think my mom said a 15 day hospital stay. My daughter Zoey has been diagnosed with grade 2 reflux on the left side. Her ped. urologist put us on daily antibiotics, miralax (to control constipation), and pro-biotics (a daily supplement with live culture such as yogurt). Grade 3 and less usually resolves on it own as the child grows. Keep having her take the daily antibiotics and if no infections occur hopefully she will be one of the kids that out grow their reflux and do not need an operation. Good luck.
