5 yr. old with 2nd UTITwo years ago, my son was diagnosed with an UTI and we got the kidney ultrasound and VCUG tests, both were negative. Now two years later, he came home on Sunday peeing bloody urine describing it as "ouchy" right before he finishes. Temperature only got up to 99F. I knew it was an UTI just from the last experience. The next day the doctors prescribed him cefdinir. After two doses, his spirits are high and the "ouch" has decreased but the frequent urination persists. He is uncircumsiced but I really believe we practice good hygiene, should I be worried if there is some more serious underlying condition since this is the 2nd UTI in two years. My doctor did not order a VCUG or an ultrasound test, just antibiotics. Should I demand one or should I get a second opinion? By the way, is it possible eating sashimi may have caused this? Please advise.
