Bactrim - causing Impetigo on my sons faceBactrim may be causing Impetigo on my sons face.
Has anyone else experienced this. He gets these boils, then they crust over and then leave a scar. Treating with Calendula Naturopathic recommended for Impetigo. Thank you in advance for any feedback. Erin in Bristol, CT
Re: Bactrim - causing Impetigo on my sons faceMy daughter has been on Bactrim for a long time, without significant side effects (other than tummy issues), but I do know that Bactrim can cause skin irritation and rash. Have you spoken to the prescribing doctor to see if he can change the abx? From your other post, I am assuming he is on the Bactrim as a prophylactic for hydronephrosis? If so, there are other drugs that they can try. I think Keflex is one that can be given for this condition.
Re: Bactrim - causing Impetigo on my sons faceThank you for responding! We have changed antibiotics - my fear is that this is yeast and will get this rash no matter what antibiotic he is on.
Does anyone know another way to manage Hydronephronosis without Antibiotics? Or am I dreaming.
