Concealed penis concernMy 2 year old son has a partially concealed penis I believe. Our pediatrician showed no major concern, but I still would like a second opinion from a pedi urologist The skin on the bottom of the shaft is very loose and non elastic when you push down on the fat pad. His penis is protruding more as he is slowly starting to thin out, but it still is a problem. Is this something that sounds like a problem that would warrant a visit to a urologist? I don't want to be overly concerned about something that he will just grow out of and will resolve itself, but I just want to be sure. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thank so much!
Re: Concealed penis concernMy 6 month old son has the same thing. From what his pediatrician and the pedi urologist we have seen have told us it resolves itself most of the time. My son is chubby right now which is supposed to be the reason why. He has a fat pad that hides the penis. Is your son still got some baby fat? I have put posts up about this issue on babycenter.com and most of the responses I have gotten have been encouraging. Some kids are born with a congenital concealed penis and that might need surgery to correct. I am trying not too worry too much about it just yet but if I were you I would go see a urologist, can't hurt.
Re: Concealed penis concernThank you for your reply. I am trying not to worry too much about it, especially while he does still have some baby fat left. I do just want to see and Ur. to make sure everything looks okay. I appreciate your words of reassurance. Have a great day!
