I am at my wits end

Post a new topicby meganash on Wed Nov 07, 2007 9:26 am

My 4 year old has reflux and we are under the care of a pediatric urologist

She recently began waking 7-9 times a night to use the bathroom. I took her in thinking it was a UTI it wasn't. The doctor said she is fine.

From all I can find she may have Nocturia, but she doesn't wet her bed with it.
I am wondering what the cause is and how to stop it. She is so tired from waking all night.

She is also on Zyrtec and this started both times she went off it, could that have something to do with it? I tried researching that too, but not much luck. I gave her Zyrtec last night and he urination improved a bit, last time after 2 days she was back getting up only 1 time a night. I can't figure if it's just a coincidence. I want to wean her from Zyrtec after reading up on it. I'd quit cold turkey, but maybe weaning down is easier on the body.

Anyway, I don't know what brought on the night time urination, how to stop it? Any advice or shared stories is greatly appreciated.
