pink spot in diaperI have a 5 month old son who has just had his second episode of a tiny pink spot in his diaper in the last month. Just a small faint, cotton-candy colored spot in the front of his diaper. Last month, he had about 4 diapers like this over 2 days...no fevers or any other symptoms. We went to the pediatrician and had a urinalysis, which was normal. Yesterday, another pink spot, larger this time, about the size of a thumb tack. Back to the pediatrician, another urinalysis, again negative. I even brought the diaper with me and she tested it with hemoccult solution which did not detect any blood either. The doctor couldn't explain anything, said intermittent hematuria was very unlikely and is going to talk to a pediatric endocrinologist to see if there could be anything metabolic. What else should we do to help figure this out? Get a renal ultrasound? VCUG? Other suggestions?
Re: pink spot in diaperif it is really blood I would probable get a renal ultrasound followed by a cystoscopy, good luck
