Pediatric Urology

My 9-year-old boy, who has been potty trained since age 3, and has never had a problem with bed wetting, has all of the sudden begun to wet himself during the day. It has happened 5 times in the past month. I took him to the doctor to check for infection but all of the tests came back normal (no diabetes, no infection, etc). He did have a slightly elevated level of protein.

Each episode was different. The first time he was laughing really hard and had been playing outside, the second time he was casually playing with his sister, the third time he was outside playing, the last two times he was playing a video game, etc.

I also mentioned to the doctor that his penis seemed very small to me for his age and the doctor concurred. It's barely a half inch. He still has a considerable fat pad, but in all is a fairly slim child. Even when you push down on the fat pad, the penis barely sticks out.

They have referred us to a pediatric urologist but it might be weeks before we can get in to see him and my son starts school next week! I just thought I would post this in case anyone else has had a similar experience or can give me any advice. It would be so traumatic for him to wet his pants in class or something.
