bad case.....I have a bad case of peyronie's disease and I was wondering if the surgery leaves any noticable scars?...also can the surgery be done at the doctors office or do most patients have to get it done at a hospital room?..and usually how long is the the recovery period?.and last...does insurance usually cover costs for medication and surgery for this??
Re: bad case.....If the Peyronie’s is severe and causing a functional deformity, the surgery needs to be done in the operating room. Visible scarring is not usually noticeable. We often suggest avoiding sex for 6+ weeks. All cases and insurance plans are different, but I suspect most functionally significant cases would be covered. Your urologist will have the individual answers you require.

Re: Re: bad case.....There is not any pain at all. Its just that my curve is bad..almost at 90 degrees and the plaque is there..is there any hope that the urologist would be able to straighten it out without any major surgery?

Re: Re: Re: Re: bad case.....I am not circumcised and when I pull my skin back I can see the plaque on the head of my penis(yellowish color)...most of the plaque is stuck on my penis and some of comes off with my finger and the skin under the plaque seems to be normal...Is this a good or bad sign that the plaque is coming off??
