immunosuppressive drugs

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Oct 17, 2002 9:07 pm

hi. if PD is an autoimmune disease like some believe, would immunosuppressive drugs be of any benefit? i've seen it suggested somewhere (don't remember where), and it seems to make sense. if immunosuppressives can help things like crohn's disease, why wouldn't it work for PD?

Such drugs can be very toxic, and I do not think the etiology of PD as an autoimmune issue has enough academic support to venture down that path.
